7. Install the sponge material onto
the frame, insert the air filter ele-
ment into the air filter case, and
then install the air filter case
cover by installing the holding
clips.

8 Make sure that the air filter ele-
ment is properly seated in the
air filter case.
8 The engine should never be
operated without the air filter
element installed, otherwise
the piston and/or cylinder may
become excessively worn.
8. Install the panel.
2. Tap the tailpipe lightly, and then
use a wire brush to remove any
carbon deposits from the spark
arrester portion of the tailpipe.
3. Insert the tailpipe into the muf-
fler, and then install and tighten
the bolts.
NOTE:
Make sure to align the bolt holes
when inserting the tailpipe.

Cleaning the spark arrester
NOTE:
Make sure to select a well-ventilated
area free of combustible materials to
clean the spark arrester.
1. Remove the tailpipe by removing
the bolts, and then pulling it out
of the muffler.
