Chain Type Connection
There are two structures of chain type connections: one uses the SNT10D Unit for Optical Bus
Repeater Modules and the other does not use any SNT10D Unit for Optical Bus Repeater
Modules.
Where No SNT10D Unit Is Used
The SNT401/SNT411 modules installed on the S2SC70/SSC60/SSC50/SSC57 Safety
Control Unit as well as on the SNB10D Safety Node Unit can be chain-connected respectively
to SNT501/SNT511 modules installed on the SNB10D Unit. In such a case, the number of I/O
modules that can be installed on SSC60/SSC50/SSC57 and SNB10D is up to four and six
respectively. If you have a plan to connect an SNB10D and your SNB10D with ber-optic cables
in the future, it is recommended that you reserve sucient slots in your SNB10D for optical ESB
bus repeater modules.
