What to do if my York R-134a Chiller has abnormally low suction pressure?
- HHeather MitchellAug 16, 2025
If your York Chiller is experiencing abnormally low suction pressure, several factors could be responsible. You may have insufficient refrigerant, so check for leaks and add refrigerant to the system. There might be a variable orifice problem, requiring the removal of any obstruction. Dirty or restricted evaporator tubes can also cause this issue, so clean them. Finally, it could be due to insufficient load for the system capacity; in this case, check the pre-rotation vane motor operation and the setting of the low water temperature cutout.
