● DonotopentheservicecoveroraccesspanelfortheindoororoutdoorunitswithoutturningOFF
the main power supply. It can result in electrical shock.
● TurnOFFthemainpowerswitchoftheindoorunitandtheoutdoorunitbeforeattemptinganyelectrical
wiringworkoraperiodicalcheckisperformed.Ifnot,itwillresultinelectricalshockorare.
● Checktoensurethattheindoorfanandtheoutdoorfanhavestoppedbeforeattemptingany
electrical wiring work or for any scheduled electrical work that is being performed.
● Protectelectricalwiring,condensatepiping,andelectricalcomponentsfromthreatsposedby
burrowinganimalsandtemperatureextremes.Failuretodosocan,overtime,deterioratesystem
performance.
● Tighten screws according to the following torque.
M3.5: 0.6to0.7ft·lbs(0.8to1.0N·m)
M4: 0.7to1.0ft·lbs(1.0to1.3N·m)
● Connect ground wiring for the outdoor / indoor unit to prevent electrical shock or an unexpected
discharge. The ground resistance must be less than 1 megohm. The grounding must be performed
by authorized installers.
● DisconnectorturnOFFthemainpowersupplytopreventelectricalshockwhenopeningthe
service cover to perform electrical maintenance.
● Takecarenottopinchelectricalwiringwhenattachingtheservicecover.Electricalreorshock
can occur.
● Insulate all wiring with accessory packing and seal the connection hole against the threat of insects
or moisture.
● Pass the wires through the knockout hole on the side cover when using conduit.
● Perform the wiring work according to this manual and “Installation and Maintenance Manual” for the
outdoor unit.
● Correctly connect the power supply line phases.
● The communication cable between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit does not have any polarity.
Do not apply an excessively high voltage to this cable (Rated Voltage 5V). It may cause failure.
● The controller cable (Field-Supplied) does not have any polarity. Do not apply an excessively high voltage
to this cable (Rated Voltage 5V). It may cause failure.
● Maintain the rated voltage for the power supply.
Voltage that is too high or too low can damage the unit.
● Make sure there is sufcient capacity for the power supply. If not, operation cannot begin due to insufcient
voltage.
8. Electrical Wiring
Perform electrical wiring work according to this manual and the “Installation and Maintenance Manual” for the
outdoor unit.
