2.3 Working on electrical units with the scaffold tower
The scaffold tower must not be used to perform work on or in the vicinity of unpro-
tected live units unless
• the section of the unit has been disconnected,
• the section of the unit has been secured against being switched back on,
• the section of the unit has been checked to ensure that it is not live,
• the section of the unit has been short-circuited with an earthing bar and
• the section of the unit has been shielded against adjacent live parts.
2.4 Other applicable safety instructions
The requirements specified in DGUV Information 201-011 "Instructions on the prop-
er handling of work and safety scaffold towers" must be observed when inspecting,
assembling and using the scaffold tower.
The requirements specified in BGV C22 and DGUV Information 203-044 "Use of elec-
trical equipment in situations with increased electrical risk" must be observed when
using electrical equipment on the scaffold tower.
