4 Read the license agreement, and then click Yes to
agree. The Choose Destination Location screen
appears.
5 To install the 3Com TFTP Server to the default folder,
click Next.
To specify another location, click Browse, and then
select a new location. Click OK, and then click Next.
Setup installs the 3Com TFTP Server on the computer.
When installation is complete, the Setup Complete
page appears.
6 Click Finish to exit the setup wizard.
Setting Up the 3Com TFTP Server
Before you can upgrade the firmware, you first need
to set up the upload/download directory on the
3Com TFTP Server. The Switch will fetch the firmware
upgrade files from this directory.
To set up the upload/download directory:
1 Start the 3Com TFTP Server by clicking the shortcut
on the program folder.
The 3Com TFTP Server interface appears.
2 On the Options menu, click Options.
The Options screen appears.
3 In Upload/download directory, type the full path to
the directory where you intend to copy the firmware
updates. For example, you can type
C:\TFTP\ (as in
the example in
Figure 26).
Alternatively, click Browse Directories, and then select
a folder from the directory tree.

4 Click OK.
Downloading Firmware Updates
You can periodically check the 3Com Web site
(www.3Com.com) for firmware updates to the
Switch.
To check for and download available firmware
updates:
1 Start your Web browser, and then enter
www.3com.com in the Address or Location bar.
2 Click Support & Downloads, and then click Down-
loads & Drivers. The Search for Downloads page
appears.
3 In Enter a Product Number, enter 3C16490, and then
click Quick Search. 3C16490 is the product number
for 3Com Baseline Switch 2226-PWR Plus.
The Download Search Results page displays any avail-
able download for the Switch.
