TWA_FIRMWARE_FLASH opt_twa.h
and the following line to your kernel configuration file
(“custom” in the example above):
options TWA_FLASH_FIRMWARE
j If you intend to enable printing of debug messages in the
driver, add the following line to /sys/conf/options:
TWA_DEBUG opt_twa.h
and the following line to your kernel configuration file
(“custom” in the example above):
options TWA_DEBUG=<number from 0 to 10>
Specifying 0 in the above line prints no debug messages,
whereas specifying 10 prints a LOT of debug messages.
11 Rebuild the kernel and install the new kernel.
12 Reboot with the rebuilt kernel.
Installing the 3ware Driver on a
FreeBSD System that Boots from a
Different Device
To install the 3ware driver as a module
1 Copy the driver from the 3ware CD-ROM at
/packages/drivers/freebsd/<OS version>
For FreeBSD 4.x, copy the driver into
/modules
For FreeBSD 5.x, copy the driver into
/boot/kernel.
2 Load the driver
kldload twa.ko
If units are present, you should see unit information in the
system log (usually,
/var/log/messages).
