3.5.3 Renewable Energy Supply
Renewable energy supply requirements:
Input 12 V (nominal)
V in max. 22 V DC
V in min. 6 V DC
Solar panel or wind generator 5 W or greater
Notes.
Before making connections, check the Data label to confirm power supply requirements.
An output regulator can be omitted if the off load-voltage is below V in max.
Renewable energy generators do not operate at maximum capacity, e.g. low wind speeds,
coating of the solar panel with dust and wildlife droppings, short daylight periods in winter etc. For
these reasons, in some installations, generators with a capacity greater then the specified 5 W
minimum should be used. Contact ABB for a technical note, giving guidance on the selection of
suitable sized generators for AquaMaster 3.
