3.8 Testing menu
3.8.1 Test mode
Switching to the test mode while the protection is in operation
should only be undertaken by especially trained personnel.
Incorrect manipulations can cause false tripping, for example, by
inadvertently operating a tripping relay, simulating an incorrect
isolator or circuit-breaker status or activating a tripping input (e.g.
External TRIP).
The test generator is activated by opening the “Testing” menu, selecting “Test
mode”. A tick appears next to the menu item, “Test mode” is added to the status
line at the bottom of the screen and the “Test mode” dialog opens.
The test generator is used in conjunction with the “Status of binary inputs/outputs”
dialog (has to be opened by the operator), (see Section 3.5.4).
When the test generator is active, the statuses of the tripping commands cannot
change.
