3.1 Connectivity packages

A Connectivity package is a software component that consists of executable code and data
which enables IEC 61850 system tools to communicate with a SAM600 system. Connectivity
packages are used to create configuration structures in PCM600.
A connectivity package includes all the data which is used to describe the IED and
communicate with it. For example, it contains a list of the existing parameters, data format
used, as well as units and visibility settings of the parameter.
