The ScanDrv configuration options
The various configuration masks can be displayed in the tree view in the bottom sub-panel. No more
information on these configuration options will be provided here.
The configuration tool is primarily used to set the authorised/blocked barcode types and their minimum and
maximum lengths.
Possible prefix and suffix characters as well as diverse conversion options for scanned barcodes and their
characters are inserted in the keyboard.
More detailed information is available in the ScanDrv_SoftwareDoku document.
Keyboard insertion vs scanner API
The default ScanDrv.ini configuration file defines that scan data is transferred using the keyboard insert
function. All barcode types are permitted etc.
The ScanDrv scanner driver is launched when the MDT device is booted. This driver reads in the
ScanDrv.ini file and the configuration is programmed into the integrated scanner module.
This means that the ScanDrv. file on the customer's device must contain all the required settings!
This applies to the settings for using the keyboard insert function or for using the scanner API in customer
applications.
The easiest way to convert to using the scanner API is to load the ScanDrvApp.ini template file and save as
ScanDrv.ini.
In the File tag, press Open
Select and load ScanDrvApp.INI
Perform the necessary configuration changes
In the File tag, press Save As
Save the loaded and modified (if applicable) configuration as ScanDrv.INI
Boot device
The easiest way to convert to the keyboard insert function is as follows:
In the File tag, press New to restore the default configuration
Perform the necessary configuration changes
In the File tag, press Save As
Save the configuration as ScanDrv.INI
Boot device
The settings required for both options are displayed below to manually convert the current configuration.
