3.3.2 General Instructions
3.3.2 General Instructions
(1) Always set the electrode protection sheet except during measurement.
(2) Be sure to open or close the cover with the opposed electrode mounted. Closing the cover
without the opposed electrode will cause damage to the main electrode by the hold bracket
of the opposed electrode.
(3) Keep out dust from the inside. Dust or dirt may decrease the standard resistance and gen-
erate leakage, causing measurement errors.
(4) When dirt is attached to the conductive rubber of the electrodes, wipe it off with a cloth
containing a small amount of ethyl alcohol.
(5) Replace the conductive rubber of the electrodes to new ones in the following cases:
A large scratch or crack occurs on the surface.
It is degenerated by chemical change such as sulfurization.
The degree of degeneration is judged by measuring the volume resistance of the elec-
trodes. At this time, mount the opposed electrode only without a sample.
If the measured value is 10 k or more, replace the conductive rubber of the electrodes.
For the 8340A, set as follows:
V SOURCE : 0.05 V
GAIN : × 10000
For the 5450/5451, set as follows:
V SOURCE : 0.05 V
AMP Response : Ex Fast
Do not apply voltage of 0.1 V or higher.
It is recommended to replace the electrode rubber once a year
When disassembling the chassis necessarily to wipe the inside insulating material or
for other purposes, disconnect all the connection cables for electric shock preven-
tion.
