OPERATION
TRACTOR PREPARATION
General
Check fluid level in the tractor hydraulic system
reservoir. Additional fluid may be required after
charging the implement hydraulic circuits.
Add front frame and wheel weights as needed
to maintain stability on hillsides and when
transporting the implement.
Inflate and ballast the tractor tires according to
the tractor operator’s manual.
Use a tractor with adequate horsepower. See
SPECIFICATIONS Section.
Drawbar
If tractor is equipped with a swinging drawbar,
allow drawbar to swing. Lock drawbar in center
position for transport only.
Adjust tractor drawbar height to approximately
17" (45 cm) above ground, as measured from
top of drawbar.
WARNING! BE SURE REMOTE COUPLERS ARE
SECURELY MOUNTED TO TRACTOR
FOR PROPER FUNCTION OF
SAFETY DISCONNECT FEATURE.
SOIL SAVER

PREPARATION
General
Perform “Beginning of Day” maintenance as
outlined in the SERVICE Section.
Tighten loose nuts and bolts, including wheel
bolts. With a new machine, check every few
hours of operation until hardware stays tight.
Replace worn, broken or damaged ground
tools.
Hitch
Initially adjust hitch to the approximate correct
height before transporting the implement to the
field. The implement hitch is vertically
adjustable to match tractor drawbar height
while allowing the implement frame to be level
during operation.
Note: Final hitch height adjustment may be
required in field.
