Operating the MSD from the GC control panel
The GC control panel on a 7890A+ or 7890B GC can show the actual
temperature and pressure of the MSD or initiate a task on the MSD without
using the Agilent MassHunter GC/MS Acquisition software. You can access
functions, such as venting and setting temperatures, right from the GC control
panel. Limited features are available from the GC control panel. The Agilent
MassHunter GC/MS Acquisition software is the full-featured controller for
most instrument control operations.
MSD designated key on the GC control panel
The MS/Aux Det key on the 7890B GC control panel allows access to control and
configuration parameters on the MSD. (See Figure 20.) For 7890A+ models
with updated firmware, this key is labeled Aux Det # which can be substituted
for the
MS/Aux Det key in the procedures that follow.
