recommendedtorecordmaintenanceofthePHE.
Theplatesneedstobecleanedonaregularbasis.Thefrequencydependsonseveralof
factorssuchastypeofmediaandtemperatures.
Differentmethodscanbeusedtoperformcleaning.Referto“Cleaning–Non-productside”on
page18orareconditioningatanAlfaLavalservicecenter.
AfteralongertimeofuseitcanberequiredtoregasketingthePHEbyexchangingthegaskets.

•Keepcarryingbarandguidingbarcleanandgrease.
•Keepthetighteningboltscleanedandgreased.
Cleaning–Non-productside
TheCleaning-In-Place(CIP)equipmentpermitscleaningofthePHEwithoutopeningit.The
purposeofcleaningwithCIPareasfollows:
•Cleaningoffoulinganddescalingoflimedeposits
•Passivationofcleanedsurfacestoreducesusceptibilitytocorrosion
•Neutralizationofcleaningliquidsbeforedraining.
FollowtheinstructionsoftheCIPequipment.

Useproperprotectiveequipment,suchassafetyboots,safetyglovesandeyeprotection,
whenusingthecleaningagents.

Corrosivecleaningliquids.Cancauseseriousinjuriestoskinandeye!

Caution!
Theresidualsafteracleaningprocedureshallbehandledaccordingtothelocal
envionmentalregulations.Afterneutralizationmostcleaningsolutionsmaybedrained
tothewastewatersystemundertheconditionthatthefoulingdepositsdonotcontain
heavymetals,othertoxicorenvironmentallydangerouscompounds.Itisrecommended
theneutralizedchemicalstobeanalysedforanytypeofhazardouscompoundsthat
wereremovedfromthesystempriortodisposal.
