ThePlateHeatExchanger(PHE)consistsofapackofcorrugatedmetalplateswithportholes

forinputandoutputforthetwoseparateuids.Theheattransferbetweenthetwouidswilltake

placethroughtheplates.

Theplatepackisassembledbetweenaframeplateandapressureplateandcompressedby

tighteningbolts.Theplatesarettedwithagasketwhichsealsthechannelanddirectsthe

uidsintoalternatechannels.Theplatecorrugationpromotesuidturbulenceandsupportsthe

platesagainstdifferentialpressure.
