INSTALLATION
Installing the unit using the Q.R.B.
1. Remove the unit from the bracket.
2. Connect the leads coming from the bracket as de-
scribed in the CONNECTIONS section.
3. Slide the bracket into the dashboard mounting hole.
Bend the tabs along the top, bottom and sides of the
bracket to strengthen the mounting.
4. Install the metal mounting strap supplied as shown
in Fig. 1. This backstrap can be attached to the vehi-
cle above or below the bracket.
5. Insert the unit into the bracket and push the handle
downward to lock the unit. To remove the unit, raise
the handle to unlock the pins, and firmly pull the unit
toward you. (Fig. 1)
Installing the unit without using the Q.R.B.
1. Remove the two collar-head screws and the pin-
plug assembly from the Q.R.B. (Fig. 2)
2.° Install the two brackets (A and B supplied) on the
main unit with two screws. (Fig. 3)
NOTE: Use the screw marked ” *& “ which have
been attached on the main unit.
3. Install the pin-plug assembly directly onto the main
unit with the two collar-head screws. (Fig. 4) When
installing the main unit using the optional accessory
kit (Alpine 4100), install the unit as shown in Figs. 5,6
and 7.
NOTE:
1. Always reinforce the installation of a removable
head unit with the metal mounting strap. Otherwise,
after repeated removal and insertion of the unit, the
bracket may become loose in the dashboard.
2. Before operating the unit, make sure the handle is
fully down as shown in Fig. 8. This is especially ne-
cessary in the case of excessive road vibration, rap-
id acceleration or vehicle collision because the unit
may come out of the bracket if it is not locked into
place. This could result in personal injury to the oc-
cupants of the vehicle or physical damage to the
unit.
Installation Location
The 7294R is designed for in-dash mounting. For opti-
mum performance, make sure the player will not be ex-
posed to:
1. Direct sun and heat
2. High humidity
3. Excessive dust
4. Excessive vibrations.

Einbau des Gerates mit der Schnell-Freigabeklam-
mer (Q.R.B.)
1. Entfernen Sie das Gerat aus der Schnell-Freigabe-
klammer {Q.R.B.).
2. SchlieRen Sie die von der Klammer kommenden
Kabel wie unter dem Abschnitt ANSCHLUSSE
(CONNECTIONS) beschrieben an.
3. Schieben Sie die Klammer in die Einbaudffnung an
dem Armaturenbrett, biegen Sie die Laschen an der
Oberseite, Unterseite und an den Seiten der Klam-
mer, damit der Einbau verstarkt wird.
4. Den beiliegenden Metall-Einbauriemen wie in der
Abb. 1 gezeigt anbringen. Dieser Verbindungsrie-
men last sich unter- oder oberhalb der Klammer an
dem Auto anbringen.
5. Setzen Sie das Gerat in die Klammer ein, und drtik-
ken Sie den Griff herunter um das Gerat zu sichern.
Heben Sie den Griff an, um die Stifte freizugeben
und das Gerat wieder zu entfernen. Ziehen Sie das
Gerat fest zu sich (Abb. 1).
Einbau des Gerates ohne die Schnell-Freigabeklam-
mer (Q.R.B.)
1. Die zwei Flachbundschrauben und den Stift-Stek-
kersatz von der Schnell-Freigabeklammer (Q.R.B.)
entfernen. (Abb. 2)
2. Die zwei Kiammern (A und B, beiliegend) mit zwei
Schrauben. (Abb. 3)
HINWEIS: Benutzen Sie die mit “ * “ gekennzeich-
nete Schraube, die an dem Hauptgerat
angebracht wurde.
3. Den Stiftstecker-Bausatz mit den zwei Flachbund-
schrauben direkt an dem Hauptgerat anbringen.
(Abb. 4) Wenn das Gerat bei Verwendung eines ge-
trennt erhaltlichen ZubehGrsatzes (Alpine 4100) ein-
gebaut wird, bauen Sie das Gerat wie in den Abbil-
dungen 5, 6 und 7 gezeigt ein.
HINWEIS:
1. Die Montage eines Gerates mit entfernbarem Kopf
stets mit Hilfe des Metall-Einbauriemens verstar-
ken. Andernfalis kann die Klammer bei wiederhol-
ten Entfernen und Einsetzen des Gerates in dem Ar-
maturenbrett gelockert werden.
2. Bevor das Gerat in Betrieb genommen wird, verge-
wissern Sie sich, daf der Griff wie in Abb. 8 gezeigt
vollstandig heruntergedrickt ist. Dies ist besonders
bei der Fahrt auf einer unebenen Strake, schneller
Beschleunigung oder ZusammenstoB des Fahrzeu-
ges wichtig, da das Gerat andernfalls aus der Kiam-
mer herausfallen kann. Dies kann eine Verletzung
der Passagiere oder eine Beschadigung des Gera-
tes zur Folge haben.
Einbavort
Der 7294R wurde fur den Einbau in das Armaturenbrett
geschaffen. Zur Gewahrleistung optimaler Bedienung
und guter Wiedergabequalitat sollte das Gerat nicht fol-
genden Einfliissen ausgesetzt werden:
. Direktes Sonnenticht und Warme
2. Hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit
3. Hohe Staubkonzentration
4. Starke Erschiitterungen.

INSTALLATION
Installation de l’unité utilisant le tiroir extractible
{O.R.B.)
1. Déposer l'unité du tiroir extractible (A.R.B.).
2. Connecter les conducteurs provenant du support
comme décrit dans la section CONNEXIONS.
3. Glisser le support dans l’ouverture de montage du
tableau de bord, plier les languettes le long du des-
sus, du dessous et des cétés du support pour conso-
lider le montage.
4. installer la bande de fixation en métal fournie
comme indiqué sur la Fig. 1. Cette bande de fixation
peut étre fixee au véhicule au-dessus ou au-dessous
du support.
5. Insérer l’unité dans le support et pousser la poignée
vers le bas pour verrouiller |’unité. Pour déposer
lunité, soulever la poignée pour déverrouiller les
tiges et tirer fermement i‘unité vers sai. (Fig. 1)
Installation de lunité sans le tiroir extractible
(Q.R.B.)
1. Déposer les deux boulons a téte carrée 4a embase et
le montage de fiche 4 broche du tiroir extractible
(Q.R.B.). (Fig. 2)
2. Installer les deux supports (A et B fournis) sur l’unité
principale a l'aide de deux vis. (Fig. 3)
REMARQUE: Utiliser !a vis marqué2 “ * ” quia
été fixée sur l’unité principale.
3. Installer le montage a fiche a broche directement
sur l’unité principale avec les deux boulcns a téte
carrée a embase. (Fig. 4) Lors de |’installation de
Funité utilisant le kit accessoire en cption {Alpine
4100), installer l’unité comme indiqué dars les Fig.
5, 6 et 7.
REMARQUE:
1. Renforcer toujours I‘installation d’une unité princi-
pale amovible avec la bande de fixation en métal. Si-
non, le support peut se détacher du tableau de bord
aprés des déposes et insertions répétées de I’unitée.
2. Avant d’utiliser I’unité, s’assurer que la pignée est
complétement tournée vers le bas comme indiqué
sur la Fig. 8. Ceci est spécialement nécessaire dans
le cas de vibrations excessives sur la route, une ac-
célération rapide ou une collision entre véhicules
parce que I'unité peut sortir du support si elle n'est
pas verrouillée en place. Ceci peut conduire a des
dommages corporels des occupants du véhicule ou
a un endommagement physique de I’unité.
Emplacement d’installation
Le 7294R est concu pour un montage dans |e tableau de
bord. Afin de garantir un fonctionnement optimum et
d’apprécier totalement votre lecteur, assurez-vous qu'il
n’est pas exposé:
1. Aux rayons directs du soleil et a la chaleur
2. Aun taux d’humidité élevé
3. A une poussiére excessive
4. Ades vibrations excessives.
INSTALLAZIONE |
Installazione dell’unita usando la staffa dal facile ri-
fascio (Q.R.B.)
1. Rimuovete I’unita daila staffa dal facile rilascio
{Q.R.B.).
2. Collegate i fili provenienti dalla staffa seguendo le
istruzione nella sezione COLLEGAMENTI.
3. Fate scorrere la staffa dentro il foro di montaggio nel
cruscotto. Piegate le linguette sulle parti superiore,
inferiore e laterali della staffa per rinforzare il mon-
taggio.
4. Installate il sostegno di montaggio di metallo in do-
tazione, sequendo la Fig. 1. Questo sostegno pud es-
sere fissato nel veicolo sopra o sotto la staffa.
5. Inserite l'unita dentro la staffa e premete la maniglia
verso il basso per fare bloccare l’unita. Per rimuove-
re l'unita, sollevate la maniglia per sbloccare i perni
é tirate l’unita fermamente verso di voi (Fig. 1).
Installazione dell’unita senza usare la staffa dal faci-
le rilascio (Q.R.B.)
1. Rimuovete le due viti dalla testina a flangia e l'as-
semblaggio della spina pin dalla staffa del facile rila-
scio (Q.R.B.). (Fig. 2)
2. installate le due staffe (A e B, in dotazione) sull’unita
principale usando due viti. (Fig. 3)
NOTA: Usate la vite segnata” * " che é stata fissa-
ta sull‘unita principale.
3. Installate l’'assemblaggio della spina a pin diretta-
mente sull’unita principale usando le due viti dalla
testa a flangia. (Fig. 4) Quando installate I‘unita
usando il kit accessorio opzionale (Alpine 4100), in-
stallate l’unita come nelle Fig. 5, 6 e 7.
NOTA:
1. Rinforzate sempre |installazione dell’ unita principa-
le estraibilie usando la placca di montaggio di metal-
lo. Altrimenti, dopo ripetuti rimozioni ed inserimenti
dell'unita, la staffa diventera lenta nel cruscotto.
2. Prima di usare l'unita, assicuratevi che la maniglia
sia rivolta completamente verso il basso, come nella
Fig. 8. Questo é specialmente importante in caso di
eccessive vibrazioni, rapide accelerazioni 0 collisio-
ni con altri veicoli, perché I'unita potrebbe fuoriusci-
re dalla staffa se non é stato bloccata correttamente.
Questo potrebbe causare lesioni personali ai pas-
seggeri del veicolo o danni all’unita.
Posizione di installazione
I 7294R é€ disegnato per |'installazione sul cruscotto.
Per essere certi che il lettore renda al massimo delle sue
possibilita, tenete presente che esso non deve essere
sottoposto a:
1. Luce solare diretta e calore
2. Umidita eccessiva
3. Polvere eccessiva
4. Vibrazioni eccessive.
