6 Operation
Information
The instrument must only be operated while the sliding door is closed.
Only properly trained personnel shall be permitted to operate the instrument.
Warning! Hot surface!
The plasma torch, the plasma interface, and the induction coil can become
extremely hot.
Let the components cool for 10 to 15 minutes before commencing work on
them.
When working on the plasma torch, plasma interface, and induction coil,
wearing protective gloves and safety goggles is mandatory.
Warning! Risk of injury
Glass parts may break when handled incorrectly and cause cutting injuries.
When working on the sample introduction system, wearing protective gloves
and safety goggles is mandatory.
If glass is broken, a suitable container (bucket) must be used to collect the
larger pieces first. In order to remove small parts and glass fragments, a
suitable vacuum must be used.
