The signal that generated is present at all points around the circuit. An
LSG connected to a 220V outlet via the EU-200 cordset (throne with the
220V) will cause an incoming signal on the neutral wire as well as an
outgoing signal on the hot wire. The close proximity of these two wires
may cause the signals to cancel each out, making it difficult to trace the
cable in these areas (increasing the sensitivity will help detect the
signal).
At the panel, the hot wire is separate from the neutral wire (where it’s
grounded) allowing easy circuit breaker identification. So, if tracing the
branch wiring through the walls is not necessary, using the EU-200
cordset may be quicker to connect.
To trace downstream (load side) wiring, see Application Notes, page 20.
