2.7 Safety instructions - service and repair
The SPECORD PLUS is usually serviced by the customer service department of Analytik
Jena AG or its authorized and trained specialist personnel.
Independent servicing can maladjust or damage the device. Therefore, the operator may
only carry out the tasks listed in the chapter "Service and care".
Observe the following notes:
The exterior of the SPECORD PLUS may only be cleaned with a damp, not drip-
ping, cloth after the device has been switched off.
Any service and repair work at the device may usually only be carried out in the
switched-off condition (unless stated otherwise).
Service tasks and the replacement of system components (e.g. lamps) must only
be carried out after a sufficiently long cooling down phase.
Only use original accessories and original replacement parts from Analytik Jena
AG. The notes in chapter "Service, maintenance, lamp replacement" p. 36 must be
observed.
Do not touch the glass body of halogen and deuterium lamps. Contamination of the
glass body, in particular of the deuterium lamp's beam outlet, will damage the lamp
properties.
Remove the protective cap from the halogen lamp after insertion! There is a risk of
fire.
2.8 Behavior during emergencies
If there is no immediate risk of injury and if this is possible immediately switch the
device switch of the SPECORD PLUS and the connected system components (PC,
accessories) in the "0" position during dangerous situations or in case of accidents
and disconnect the mains plugs from the mains outlets!
Note: For the PC there is a risk of data loss and damage to the operating system!
