What to do if the motor stops and the light flashes in the Andersen 28 Winches motor control switch?
    • S
      shannon28Jul 27, 2025
If the motor stops and the light in the motor control switch flashes, this could be due to several reasons: * The motor has reached its maximum load limit. In this case, release the button and run the winch with less load. * The motor circuit has reached its maximum temperature (approximately 60°C). Allow the motor to cool off until it's ready to operate again; it will function normally when the temperature falls within the accepted range. * The winch has been running for more than 4¼ minutes. Release the button and start over. * The motor control switch cable may be damaged or worn. Replace the cable if necessary.

What to do if the Andersen 28 Winches circuit breaker trips straight away after being reset?
    • P
      pparrishAug 1, 2025
If the circuit breaker trips immediately after being reset, consider the following: * There might be an error code on the circuit breaker. Depending on the error code, action has to be taken. * The voltage at the breaker may be incorrect. Charge or change the battery and check terminal connections. The breaker can be reset when the correct voltage is available. * The connections and wiring from the motor thermo sensor to the circuit breaker printed circuit board may be faulty. Re-connect the wire and replace it if damaged, as the breaker will trip if the thermo-sensor is not connected. * The motor may have overheated (over 70ºC). Allow the motor to cool, then reset the circuit breaker. If the problem persists, contact your Andersen dealer for service.

      Jacqueline WilsonAug 5, 2025
If the motor does not run when activating the motor control switch, but there’s light in the switch, then: * Check that the voltage supply to the motor terminals is correct. The motor function shall be normal when the correct voltage is available. * Check that the switch cable is not worn or damaged in any place. Replace the cable if possible.

If the motor does not run and there is no light in the motor control switch: * Check that the circuit breaker and main power switch are in the “ON” position. If “OFF” turn “ON”. * Check the voltage supply at the motor and terminal connections. * Check that the motor control switch is connected to the motor; if it is not, connect the switch.

What to do if there is no light in the green diode on the back of the Andersen 28 circuit breaker?
    • B
      Brian ScottAug 14, 2025
If there is no light or flashing in the green diode on the back of the circuit breaker when it is switched “ON”: * Check that the “MINUS” supply to the circuit board is not broken or damaged, reattach the “MINUS” wire to the minus terminal on the print, because important safety features will not function when there is no light from the circuit breaker. * The printed circuit board on the breaker can be damaged, replace it with a new print circuit board.

What causes the Andersen 28 circuit breaker to trip without an error code?
    • T
      Tyrone MitchellAug 18, 2025
If the circuit breaker trips and no error code is present on the diodes, it is because the current consumption is higher than the rated current consumption on the circuit breaker, therefore it cuts off. Check the installation for faults.

Why is there water dripping from the drain holes of my Below-Deck Andersen 28?
    • A
      Angela HardingAug 22, 2025
If water drips from drain holes near the base of the through-deck extension tube in Below-Deck Andersen Winches, it is due to water ingress at the output gear shaft seal. Perform recommended lubrication of the seal, or replace the seal if necessary.
