4. DOSING PUMPS INSTALLATION RULES
Strictly follow the instructions for a correct installation of the dosing pump to avoid malfunctions. The most
frequent cases are described below:
Locate the pump as shown in Figure 1, bearing in mind that it can be mounted either below or above the level
of the chemical to be dosed within the maximum limit of 2 meters (we suggest 1.5 meters). The injection point
must always be placed higher than the chemical to be injected.
If the system to be treated works at atmospheric pressure and the chemical tank must absolutely be
positioned higher than the injection point (Figure 2), periodically check the functionality of the injection valve
(I), as its excessive wear could lead to unintentional injection of the chemical into the plant due to gravity (even
with the dosing pump stopped). If the problem persists, insert a counter-pressure valve (V) correctly calibrated
between the dosing pump and the injection point.
For chemicals that emit aggressive fumes, do not install the pump on top of the tank unless the tank is
hermetically sealed (Figure 3).
