Basically, three measurement geometries can be differentiated:
• Overhead, when the device is installed above the lane (approx. 5-6 meters high), and in the
center of the lane (for example on an overpass or gantry, etc.). Typical field of application: fixed
installation on a highway.
• Lateral, when the device is placed near the traffic lane, (within a 2-5 meter distance from the
lane) directed toward the lane in a relatively low position (approximately 1,5 meters high).
Typical field of application: mobile (tripod) installation on road and highway.
