GEARBOX ASSEMBLY
REPLACEMENT
Models 911175, 911177, 911179, 911188, 911189, 911190,
911375, 911379
Remove Gearbox Assembly
IMPORTANT: Retain hardware for reinstallation.
1. Park unit on a flat level, surface.
2. Stop engine, remove key (if applicable) and wait for
moving parts to stop and for hot parts to cool.
3. Remove drive belt. See Remove Drive Belt on page 8.
See Figure 36.
4. Remove axle hubs from axle plates.
5. Remove flange bushings from axle plates.
6. Remove gearbox assembly from axle weldment and
remove axle hubs from transmission shaft.
Install Gearbox Assembly
See Figure 37.
1. Install axle hubs onto transmission shaft ends.
2. Insert gearbox shaft ends through axle plates.
3. Install one flange bushing into each axle plate.
4. Reposition axle hubs in axle plates and secure each
with one external retaining ring. See Figure 38.
5. Reinstall drive belt. See Install Drive Belt on page 14.
6. Adjust wheel drive control lever. Refer to Operator’s
Manual for adjustment procedure.
7. Reconnect spark plug wire and fill fuel tank.
IMPORTANT: Check all adjustments after first use.
