2. DESCRIPTION & FUNCTION
Smart LC 440 On-Off Level Controller can be used with LP 400 Level Probe which operates according
to conductivity principle for controlling the water level in boilers.
Typical application for on/off level control of a steam boiler :
■ High level/MAX alarm,
■ Pump On/ Start,
■ Pump Off/ Stop,
■ Low level/MIN alarm,
System is suitable for use with different qualities of liquids such as water, in liquids which and boiler water.
The On-Off Level Control System LCS 400 can be used conductivity level is over 10 μs/cm (at 25° C).
With On-Off Level Control System, LP 400 Level Probe detects the water level of boiler and therefore, the level
controller LC 440 starts or stops the feedwater pump (Figure 1). Besides, two alarm relay outputs can be provided.

Before installation, the length of the electrode probe must be cut to the required switching level, e.g. for high
limit alarm, pumps on/off and low limit alarm.
