The A230E 3000W Electric Fiber Laser Cutting Head, part of the German brand A-cutter series, is designed for flat cutting applications with laser power up to 3000W. This cutting head offers an integrated solution for medium-power laser flat auto-focus cutting, especially when paired with MCC series motion control cards and SC series cutting software. Its design emphasizes stability during long-term operation at high laser power, achieved through an optimized optical system and water cooling.
Function Description:
The A230E cutting head is a sophisticated device that converts an incident laser beam from a fiber laser source into a highly focused beam for precise material cutting. It integrates a motor driver unit, allowing for automatic adjustment of the focus lens unit's position along the Z-axis within a 24mm range. This capability enables "continuous focus adjustment" via the cutting software, which accelerates thick metal plate cutting and facilitates cutting of various metal types and thicknesses. The head's multi-interface design and D30 optical lens group ensure compatibility with different fiber laser sources.
The cutting head comprises six basic units:
- QBH Interface: Connects to the fiber laser source.
- Collimate Unit: Transforms the incident laser beam into a parallel beam. This unit also allows for adjustment to center the laser beam.
- Focus Unit: Converts the parallel beam into a concentrated, high-energy beam. It enables real-time adjustment of the focus position.
- Protection Unit: Shields the focus lens from dust and metal dregs generated during cutting, thereby extending the lens's service life.
- Nozzle Tips Unit: Directs the focused beam onto the metal sheet and simultaneously ejects a high-speed gas flow to ensure optimal cutting quality.
- Motor Driver Unit: Adjusts the Z-axis position of the focus lens unit.

Usage Features:
- Integrated Control: The cutting head integrates the controlling unit for Z-axis focus lens position adjustment, simplifying system complexity and installation/debugging when interacting with the laser cutting control system.
- Compact and Lightweight Design: Made with light alloy materials, the A230E has a length of only 68mm and a weight of 3.5KG, significantly reducing the load-bearing demands on the laser cutting machine's transom, allowing for wider application.
- Advanced Cutting Capabilities: When used with SC series fiber laser systems, it enables high-speed drilling and automatic adjustment of cutting parameters predefined in the software. The cutting software can monitor focus position in real-time and supports manual adjustment for optimal cutting performance.
- Laser Beam Centering: The cutting quality is highly dependent on the optical lens's centering. The A230E allows for X-Y adjustment of the collimate lens using a hexagonal screwdriver to ensure the laser beam is centered within the nozzle tips. A method involving scotch tape and red light/low power laser is provided to verify and adjust centering.
- Focus Adjustment: Focus adjustment along the Z-axis is performed via the SC series cutting software. Users can adjust the focus lens unit's position step-by-step. The software supports focus position calibration, stepping piercing, and complex parameter settings to meet diverse cutting demands for different metal sheets. The adjustment range is +12mm to -12mm, with a "focus visual window" for real-time position checking and micro-adjustment.
Maintenance Features:
Regular care and maintenance, particularly optical lens cleaning, are crucial for maintaining cutting quality and extending the lifespan of the cutting head.
- Optical Lens Cleaning: The A230E has two protective windows: one for the collimate lens (top) and one for the focus lens (bottom). Dust or dregs on these lenses can absorb laser heat, causing deformation and poor cutting quality. Weekly cleaning is recommended.
- Tools: Dust-free gloves or fingerstalls, polyester fiber cotton swab, absolute ethyl alcohol, and an air blowing device (clean compressed air).
- Method: Wear fingerstalls, spray alcohol on a cotton swab, hold the lens by its side edge (never directly by fingers without fingerstalls), wipe the lens gently in one direction (bottom to top or left to right), and then use the air blowing device to remove any residue. Clean both sides and inspect for any remaining alcohol, dust, or dregs.
- Disassembly and Installation of Optical Lenses: All disassembly and installation processes must be performed in a clean environment with dust-free gloves or fingerstalls.
- Protective Windows of Collimate Lens: Loosen two screws, carefully remove the lens with its cover slide drawer, remove the screw ring, and then the lens. Clean all components, reassemble, and tighten. A seal ring inside the cover slide drawer must be present and undamaged.
- Protective Windows of Focus Lens: Similar to the collimate lens, loosen two screws, remove the lens with its cover slide drawer, take out the protective window upper seal ring, and then the lens. Clean all components, replace the seal ring if damaged, reassemble, and tighten.
- Collimate Lens: Disassemble the cutting head and clean its surface. Loosen all screws of the collimate lens unit (using a 3mm hexagonal screwdriver), cover connecting parts with masking tape to prevent dust. Use optics tools to remove the collimate lens with its holder, then the screw ring and lens. Clean or replace the lens.
- Focus Lens: Disassemble the cutting head and clean its surface. Loosen all screws of the focus lens unit (using a 4mm hexagonal screwdriver), cover connecting parts with masking tape. Use optics tools to remove the focus lens with its holder, then the screw ring and lens. Clean or replace the lens.
- Replacement of Capacitive Nozzle Body: If the cutting head is hit and damaged, the capacitive nozzle body may need replacement.
- Replacement of Ceramic Ring: Screw off the nozzle tips, unscrew the lock ring while holding the ceramic ring straight. Align the pin hole of the new ceramic ring with the locating pins, hold it straight, and screw on the lock ring. Finally, screw on the nozzle tips and tighten.
- Replacement of Nozzle Tips: Screw off the old nozzle tips, screw on new ones, and tighten.
- Calibration: Head calibration must be performed after replacing nozzle tips or ceramic rings to ensure accurate cutting.
