Fuel filler flap emergency release
You can open the fuel filler flap by hand if the
power locking system should fail.

The emergency release mechanism is located
behind the right side trim pa nel in t he lug-
gage compartmen t . In vehicles with se lect ive
catalyt ic red uction *, remove the vent grille
first:
• Press both t abs @

vent grille downward . You can t hen remove
t he grille upward.
• Loosen the loop

and then pull on the loop carefully

• Press on the left side of the fuel filler door
to open

Only pull on the loop until you feel resist-
ance. You will not hear it release. Other-
wise you could damage t he emergency re-
lease mechanism .

Selective catalytic
reduction
General information
Applies to vehicles: with diesel eng ine
On vehicles with se lective cata lytic reduction,
an urea solution (AdBlue) is injected into the
exhaust system before a nitrogen oxide cata-
lytic converter to reduce nitrogen emissions.
The Ad Blue is stored in a separate tank in t he
vehicle. The Ad Blue usage accounts for ap-
proximately 0.5% to 1.2% of the diesel fue l
that is used.
You must refill the Ad Blue or have it refilled
by your aut horized Audi dea ler or qua lified
workshop as soon as the Ad Blue refill mes-
sage appears in the instrument cluster

A WARNING
Failure to heed AdBlue refill information in
the instrument clust er can prevent the ve-
hicle from be ing started and driven. If the
vehicle can not be driven and an emergen cy
arises, personal inj ury can occur.
- Always have t he AdBlue tank refilled well
befo re the tank runs dry.

- The instr ument cluster display indicates
the distance remain ing that can be driv-
en

comple t ely empty, t he eng ine will not
sta rt ag ain afte r t he ignition is switched
off.
- Ad Blue is required by law t o operat e th is
vehicle.
