Headlight washer system
Applies to vehicles: with headlig ht washer system
The headlight washer system cleans the
headlights.
., Operate the win dshield wiper/washer sys-
tem
c:> page 46, fig. 49 ® with the head-
li ghts turned on by holding the lever for lon-
ger than one second.
The washer jets extend forward out of the
fro nt bumper driven by water pressure to
spray the fr ont headlights with water.
You should inspect the headlights regularly
(for example when refue lin g) and clean
off
any solid dirt or insects from the lenses.
To ensure t he system works properly in winter,
keep the washer jets free of snow and remove
any ice using a de-icing spray.
Service position
It is only possible to change wiper blades if
you move the wiper arms to the service posi -
tion.
I n order t o use the win dshield wipers, the
front lid must be comp lete ly closed.
Moving wiper blades to the service
position
., When t here is a risk of fr ost, make sure that
the wiper blades are not frozen t o t he wind -
shield .
.. Switch the ign ition on.
., Move the wiper lever t o position

., Press the I Reset I button until the Display
type menu appears in the Driver Info rma-
t ion System display .

Set > Wipe rs > Front > Serv-

Moving wiper blades to park position

@ Note
Never drive your vehicle when the wind-
shield wiper arms are in t he service posi-
tion and pulled away fr om the winds hield.

h), the wiper arms aut omatically return to
t he park position and could cause paint
dam age to t he fron t lid!
@ Tips
- You can also tur n on t he service posit ion,
f or example, if you want to protect the
w indshield fr om icing by using a cover.
- The service posit ion moves t o
off auto -
matically whe n you operat e the w ind-
shield wi per lever, or speed exceeds
4 mph (6 km/h ).
Cleaning windshield wiper blades
Clean the windshie ld w iper blades when they
begin to leave st reaks.

., Use a soft cloth and glass cleaner to clean
the windshield wiper blades .
A WARNING
Dirty winds hield wiper blades can impair
your view. This can lead to accidents.
