66 Warm and cold
Setting fan speed 8/r
.,. Turn the knob @ ¢ page 64, fig. 67 to the
setting you want to adjust fan speed (air
quantity).
In a utomat ic mode the climate control sys-
tem automatically regulates fan speed de -
pending on interior temperature. You can ad -
just the volume of air produced by the fan to
meet your own requirements.

.,. Turn the rotary knob @ ¢ page 64, fig. 67
to the desired setting .
.,. To open and close the outl ets, turn the ad-
justing ring.
.,. To adjust the direction of the airflow from
the outlet, move the tab in the center of the
outlet in the desired direction. The direction
of the air de livered from the vents can be
adjusted horizontally and vertically .
Air distribution :
- In sett ing
-0-, air flows only to the windows,
vents
(D and @ are open . To defrost the
driver and front passenge r side windows
most effectively, the vents @ should be di-
rected towa rd the side windows.
- In setting@, air flows only to the driver/
passenger, vents ® and © are open.
- In setting{}, air flows only to the footwell,
vents ® are open .
(D Tips
If the difference between the desired tem-
perature set by you and the veh icle's interi-
or temperature is too great, the fan speed
will change automat ically. This is done so
that the desired temperature setting is
reached as quickly as possible .
- In setting~' air flows only to the windows
and the footwell, vents
(D, @ and ® are
open.
There are additional comb inat ions (th rough
intermediate settings) available to adjust a ir
dist ribution as needed .
(r} Tips
If the climate controls are running in cool-
ing mode, air should flow mainly from
vents @ and @ . To achieve sufficient cool-
ing, you should never close t hese vents
complete ly.
