Tiptronic allows the driver to shift gears man -
ually.

Switching to manual
• Move the se lecto r lever to the right out of
the D posi t ion. The disp lay changes once the
t ransmission has switched to man ual mode.
For example,
M4 indica t es that 4th gea r is
engaged.
Upshifting
• Tap the se lector lever forwa rd (in the t ip-
t ronic se t t ing) ~

Switching to manual can be carried out with
the vehicle stationary as we ll as moving .
When accelera t ing, the tr a nsmission sh ift s in-
to the next gear in gears 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
sho rtly before the maximum permissib le en-
gine speed is reached.
If you have se lected a lower gear tha n t he cur-
rent one, t he transm ission will on ly shift down
when the engine cannot be overspeeded.
If kick-down is actuated, the t ransmission
shifts into a lower gear independently of
speed and eng ine rpm.
Steering wheel with Tiptronic controls
Applies to vehicles: with S tronic
The selector paddles allow the driver to keep
both hands on the steering wheel when shift -
ing gears.

• Pull the right paddle, marked 0

center console is in D, Sor in the manua l posi-
