I/OPorts

TheAxisproductprovidestwocongurableinputandoutputportsforconnectionofexternaldevices.AnAxismulticableisrequired

whenconnectingexternaldevices,seeMulticableconnectorsonpage55.

ToconguretheI/Oports,gotoSystemOptions>Ports&Devices>I/OPorts.Eachportcanfunctionasinputoroutput:

•InputasOpencircuit–Theinputbecomesactivewhenthecircuitisgroundedby,forexample,aREXdevice.Itremains

inactiveaslongasitsnormalstateequalsitscurrentstatus.

•InputasGroundedcircuit–Theinputbecomesactivewhenthecircuitisopenedbyforexampleamonitor.

•OutputasOpencircuit–Theoutputportisinanon-conductivestatewhenitscurrentstatusisopencircuit.Thecurrent

statusofanoutputportcanbechangedby,forexample,anactionrule.

•OutputasGroundedcircuit–Theoutputportisinaconductivestatewhenitscurrentstatusisgroundedcircuit.

PortStatus

ThelistontheSystemOptions>Ports&Devices>PortStatuspageshowsthestatusoftheproduct’sinputandoutputports.

AnAxismulticableisrequiredwhenconnectingI/OdevicestotheAxisproduct.SeeMulticableconnectorsonpage55.

TheAxisproductprovidesseveralmaintenancefunctions.TheseareavailableunderSystemOptions>Maintenance.

ClickRestarttoperformacorrectrestartiftheAxisproductisnotbehavingasexpected.Thiswillnotaffectanyofthecurrent

settings.
