Motiondetectionisusedtogenerateanalarmwhenevermovementstartsorstopsinthecamera’seldofview.Thealarmis
generatedwhenthecameraisinOverviewMode,thatis,whenusingthePanopsislens.See.
Motiondetectionisconguredbydeningupto10IncludeandExcludewindows:
•Includewindows—deneareaswheremotionshouldbedetected
•Excludewindows—deneareaswithinanIncludewindowthatshouldbeignored(areasoutsideIncludewindows
areautomaticallyignored).

Oncemotiondetectionwindowsarecongured,theAxisproductcanbeconguredtoperformactionswhenmotionisdetected.

•ThepositionoftheMotionDetectionWindowisrelativetotheorientationoftheCamera.Changingtheorientationofthe
camerawillalsochangethepositionoftheMotionDetectionWindow.
Howtosetupmotiondetectionwindows
TosetupamotiondetectionIncludeWindow,followtheseinstructions:
1.GotoEvents>MotionDetection.
2.GotoDetectors>MotionDetection.
3.SelectadesiredresolutionforviewingwhilesettingupMotionDetectionfromtheViewinlist.
4.SelecttheCongureIncludedWindowsoptionandclickNew.Selectthenewwindowinthelistofwindowsand
enteradescriptivename.
5.Adjustthesize(dragthebottomright-handcorner)andtheposition(clickonthetextatthetopanddragtothedesired
position)ofthewindow.
6.AdjusttheObjectSize,HistoryandSensitivityprolesliders(seeMotiondetectionparametersonpage35fordetails).Any
detectedmotionwithinanactivewindowisindicatedbyredpeaksintheActivitywindow.
7.ClickSave.
Toexcludepartsoftheincludewindow,selecttheCongureExcludedWindowsandpositiontheexcludewindowwithinthe
includewindow.
Todeleteanincludeorexcludewindow,selectthewindowinthelistofwindowsandclickDel.
