Resetting the Private Network Name
Simple Connect allows you to reset the HomePlugAV’s Private Network Name to a
random key. When a HomePlugAV is reset to a random key, it will not be able to
communicate with any other HomePlugAV device that is not using the same
random key.
Note: Resetting the Private Network Name is different from resetting the device to its
factory default settings. If you intend to reset the device to its factory default
settings, press the WPS button on the device for more than 5 seconds. Do take note
that upon performing factory default reset, all settings or changes made into the
device would automatically be deleted.
To reset the Private Network Name using Simple Connect:
Step 1
On HomePlug X, press the Simple
Connect button for more than ten (10)
seconds. Power LED and Ethernet LED
will turn OFF and turn ON (Ethernet is
connected). The Powerline Activity LED
will switch OFF on both units.
Step 2
On the second adapter (HomePlug Y/
HL117E), press the Simple Connect
button for two (2) seconds and do it on
the first adapter (HL117EW) to pair the
devices. The Power LED will blink to
indicate that the button is pressed.
