The fieldbus module file system supports only device names in "8+3" format, i.e. with a restricted
name length. Since IODD files are generally published with a long file name, these must be
renamed and given a shorter naming scheme before downloading to the fieldbus module. For this
a help setting is provided in the dialog, with the associated required IODD file name for the currently
connected IO-Link devices shown in the bottom section of the list. The IODD file and image file for
downloading must first be renamed to this name on the PC:
Image files without IODD can also be uploaded; the images are still displayed in the port dialog.
Note
Before selecting the IODD rename it on the PC to the "8+3" file name shown
on the PC under "IODD Filename"!
