ForAnalogOutput#1andAnalogOutput#2,eachoutputisassignedtooneofsix
analysismodes,whichareselectedviatheEditPSFScreenofthesuppliedsoftware.
OncetheAnalysisModeSelectionisspecifiedforMeas1andMeas2,theAnalog
OutputcanspecifiedviatheAnalogOutputchoices.Theanalysismodeisselected
asMeas1,Meas2,orDisabled.TheDisabledoptionmeanstheoutputisnotutilized.
Meas1andMeas2reflectthechoicesprovidedwiththeAnalysisModeSelection.The
Scan#providesameanstoaveragefrom1to9scansbeforetheanalogoutputgets
updated.TheInvertoptionchangestheoutputfromarisingsignaltoafallingsignal.
Null/Span Adjustment
Theusercanadjustboththezeroandfull-scalereadingforbothanalogoutputsof
MACV-1andMACI-1Controllers.ThisadjustmentisimplementedviatheEditPSF
screenNull/Spanbutton,whichactivatestheNull/Spanmenu(Figure5-12).

TheNull/Spanmenucausesthecontrollertotemporarilyrespondtoscaling
adjustments.TheNullandSpanrangescanbeadjustedasfollows:
Eachoutput’sNullandSpanisindependentlyadjustedviatheseparateslidingbars.
Whentheadjustmentsaremade,thenewvaluescanbetemporarilymonitoredby
selectingeithertheNull UpdateorSpan Updatebutton.TheOKbuttonsavesthe
newsettingsandinstructsthecontrollertoresumenormaloperation.Clickingthe
CancelbuttondisregardsanyNull/Spanadjustmentsandcausesthecontrollerto
resumenormaloperationwiththethepreviouslysavednullandspansettings.
TheMACcontrollerhasafour-minuteNull/Spantime-outfeaturethatcausesthe
controllertoleavetheNull/SpanadjustmentprocedurewhenneithertheNullUpdate
northeSpanUpdatefunctionsareaccessed.Whenthistime-outconditionoccurs,the
MACcontrollerautomaticallycancelstheNull/Spanadjustmentprocedureandreturns
tothepreviouslysavedsettings.
