7.3 Hydraulic connections
7.3.1 Preparing the water connections
1 Domestic hot water outlet (red collar)
2 Domestic cold water inlet (blue collar)
The components used for the connection to the cold water circuit must
comply with the prevailing standards and regulations in the country
concerned.
The water connections must comply with the corresponding standards and
local directives.
1. Remove the lower cover.
2. The domestic hot water circuits and cold water feed pipes must be
flushed before making any water connections to prevent metal
particles or other contaminants into the domestic hot water tank.
If flushing has to be done using an aggressive product, neutralise the
rinsing water before disposing of it in the waste water network.
Specific precautions
Before attaching the connections, flush the domestic water inlet pipes to
prevent metal or other particles from entering the appliance's tank.
Caution
Do not connect the domestic hot water connection directly to
copper pipes in order to prevent galvanic couplings in iron/copper
(risk of corrosion).
It is compulsory to fit the domestic hot water connection with a
dielectric union (provided).
Install the second dielectric union delivered on the domestic cold
water inlet.
Safety valve or safety unit
Caution
Germany: In accordance with the safety regulations, a safety
unit calibrated to 0.6 MPa (6 bar) must be fitted on the domestic
cold water inlet on the domestic hot water tank.
Belgium: In accordance with the safety regulations, a safety unit
calibrated to 0.7 MPa (7 bar), and approved by Belgaqua, must
be fitted on the domestic cold water inlet on the domestic hot
water tank.
Italy: in accordance with the safety regulations, a safety unit
calibrated to 0.7 MPa (7 bar) must be fitted in accordance with
the EN 1487 standard.
Other countries: In accordance with the safety regulations, a
safety unit calibrated to 0.7 MPa (7 bar) must be fitted on the
domestic cold water inlet on the domestic hot water tank.
Install the safety valve close to the domestic hot water tank in a place with
easy access.
Important
Safety valve: 7 bar (0.7 Mpa)
