If you do not have a second recovery
machine dedicated to contaminated
refrigerant, use following steps:
1.Disconnectthehigh-andlow-side
couplersfromthevehicle/refrigerant
supply.
2.Connectthelow-sidecoupler(blue)to
thetankadapterttingsuppliedwiththe
machine.
3.Inawell-ventilatedarea,openthelow-
sidecouplerwiththeportpointedaway
fromyou,allowingthecontaminated
refrigerantinthehosestovent.
4.Oncethepressurehasescaped,remove
thehigh-sidecouplerfromthehose.
5.Blowairinonehosethroughthe
high-andlow-sidehosestoremoveall
refrigerant.
6.Assemblethehigh-sidecouplertothe
hose.
7.Disconnectthetankadapterttingfrom
thelow-sidecoupler.
8.PressOKonthekeypad.Themachine
willvacuumthehoses.

Thecontaminatedrefrigerantsampledbythe
BAC5100yfrefrigerantidentiermustberemoved.
Therearetwooptionstoaccomplishthis.
A second recovery machine dedicated to handling
contaminated refrigerant is required for the
following steps:
1.WiththeBAC5100yfstillconnectedtothevehicle
andthecouplersopen,connectthelow-side(blue)
couplerfromthesecondrecoverymachineto
thecontaminantrecoveryportonthebackofthe
BAC5100yf.SeeFigure26.Openthecoupler
valves.
2.Connectthedischargehosefromthesecond
recoverymachinetoatankdesignedtoreceive
contaminatedrefrigerant.
3.Startthesecondrecoverymachineandruna
recoveryaccordingtoinstructionssuppliedwiththe
machine.
4.Uponachievingavacuuminthevehicle(orper
recoverymachineinstructions),disconnectthe
secondrecoverymachinefromtheBAC5100yf.
5.Clearthevehicleofresidualcontaminationaccording
tothevehiclemanufacturer’sinstructionsbefore
continuingservice.
