13. WINTER STORAGE / PROLONGED NON-USE
Extend the service life of your LiFePO4 battery by observing the following instructions:
Charge your LiFePO4 battery to 100% of its capacity before storage!
Disconnect your LiFePO4 battery from all loads and consumers before storage!
Protect the pole contacts from short circuits by covering them!
For longer storage, the LiFePO4 battery must be charged to 100% every year!
Temperatures down to -20°C do not damage the battery cell, so it is not necessary to remove
the battery in most cases In general, however, care should be taken to ensure that very cold
batteries are slowly brought back to the ambient temperature! Rapid heating can lead to
condensation in the housing and damage to the battery
Never use a trickle charger!
14. RECYCLING OF LITHIUM BATTERIES
Lithium batteries marked with the recycling symbol must be returned to recognised recycling
points They can also be returned to the manufacturer on request
Only dispose of discharged batteries!
Solder the connections to avoid a short circuit!
Lithium batteries must not be disposed of with household or industrial waste
LiFePO4 iron phosphate batteries are subject to disposal and recycling regulations that vary
from country to country and region to region
