4.4 Selecting the needle
This machine is designed for needles of the system ELx705 with needle sizes 70 ─ 90. It is recommended to
use the ELx705 CF (Chrome Finish) version as ELx705 CF needles are more durable. Due to the second thread
groove, the machine runs most reliably with ELx705 CF needles.
If required, needles of the 130/705 H system can also be used. These universal needles can provide good
results in certain applications and are available with various tip shapes and in different needle sizes.

The needles should be replaced regularly. Only a perfect needle point can achieve a proper stitch.
• Needle size 80: For any common applications. For medium-weight to heavyweight fabrics
• Needle size 90: For heavyweight fabrics
• Needle sizes < 80: In exceptional cases, only for light fabrics
