Term Explanation

Extrude Extrusion, thermosetting materials are forced through a nozzle.

Filament Continuous fiber, rolled up on a spool. Available in various materi-

als.

Nozzle Opening through which the filament is squeezed.

G-Code Describes the tool path for printing the desired object; is generated

via slicing soware.

Slicing Soware

Soware for generating a model for printing. Generates the

G-Code.

Homing Moving the extruder to original coordinates/zero position. Starting

point for the extruder.
