Remove the tamper (A, Figure 7) and feed small branches
into the chipper. Small branches can be grouped together and
fed into the chipper. When feeding forked branches, squeeze
the forks together and feed into the chipper entrance. Do not
overload the chipper! Before shutting down the unit, use the
tamper (B) to slowly push remaining pieces of wood through
the chipper. This prevents remaining wood from clogging the
chipper while the unit is not in use. Always store the tamper in
the chipper hopper.

Note: Figure 8 depicts handles on the KV push model. Self-
propelled units will have a bail pre-installed on the upper
handle.
1. Line up the holes on the upper (A, Figure 8) and lower
handles (B).
2. Insert bolt (C) with threads facing inside. Thread the black
knob (D) onto the bolt, and hand-tighten by rotating the
knob clockwise.
3. Repeat this step on the other side of the unit to secure
the upper handle to the lower handle.
