Questions and Answers

Why does my Blue Clean BC111HS turn on for 2 seconds then shut off?
    • E
      Eric LongJul 29, 2025
The Blue Clean Pressure Washer may turn on for 1-2 seconds to prime the pump when the water is connected and accessories are properly assembled. It will then shut off and wait for the spray gun trigger to be pressed. When you press the trigger, the water sensor in the pump detects the moving water and turns the power washer on. Alternatively, turn the power switch off, hold the trigger on the spray gun to ensure a steady water stream, and then simultaneously turn the power switch on while holding the trigger.

How to turn on Blue Clean BC111HS Pressure Washer?
    • M
      Maria RamirezAug 4, 2025
Ensure the GFCI module on the end of the power cord is plugged directly into an outlet. Avoid using an extension cord. With the GFCI connected, make sure the power switch is turned on. When the power switch is turned on, the Blue Clean pressure washer will turn on by itself for 1-2 seconds and shut off, which is normal.

What to do if my Blue Clean BC111HS Pressure Washer is running but there is no water flow?
    • S
      Steven RodriguezAug 10, 2025
First, ensure that power is not turned on until water flows through the spray gun to prevent motor damage. Check the water source. If there's still no water flow, eject the nozzle from the lance to see if the clog is there. If the nozzle is clogged, refer to the nozzle cleaning instructions. You can also take off the lance and spray directly from the spray gun to identify if the lance is the issue.

Why is water leaking where the high pressure hose connects to the spray gun on my Blue Clean BC111HS?
    • R
      Robert RobertsAug 16, 2025
Check for an o-ring at the end of the metal tip of the high-pressure hose. If there is no o-ring, the connection will leak. You can use the O-Ring Replacement Kit (L) included with your purchase. Additional O-Ring Kits are available online at www.arblueclean.com or by calling Customer Service at 1-866-235-5112 to place an order.

How to connect high pressure hose to the spray gun of Blue Clean BC111HS Pressure Washer?
    • E
      Erin DominguezAug 22, 2025
In most cases, the rubber sleeve is the problem. Twist and/or pull the rubber sleeve down until the entire tip is visible. Then, insert the hose tip into the spray gun until it clicks into place. It will stay connected unless you push the lever on the underside of the gun. If needed, carefully cut away the end of the sleeve with a sharp knife, being careful not to damage the hose. Also, make sure you are not pushing the release button when connecting the high pressure hose.

Overview

The AR Blue Clean BC111HS is an electric pressure washer designed for various cleaning projects. It offers a powerful 1600 PSI (pounds per square inch) maximum pressure and a 1.7 GPM (gallons per minute) maximum flow rate, making it suitable for tackling dirt and grime on different surfaces. The rated pressure is 1160 PSI, and the rated flow rate is 1.2 GPM. It operates on a standard 120-volt, 60 Hz electrical supply, drawing 12.5 amps, and has a weight of 14.6 lbs, making it relatively portable.

Function Description:

The primary function of the BC111HS is to clean surfaces using a high-pressure stream of water. It connects to a standard garden hose for water supply and plugs into a grounded 120-volt outlet. The unit features an auto-start feature, where it primes itself for 1-2 seconds and then shuts off, waiting for the spray gun trigger to be pressed to begin operation. This design helps conserve energy and prolong pump life. The pressure washer is equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) built into the power cord plug, which enhances safety by reducing the risk of electric shock.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: BC111HS
  • Max PSI: 1600 lbs/sq. in.
  • Rated PSI: 1160 lbs/sq. in.
  • Max GPM: 1.7 Gal/per min
  • Rated GPM: 1.2 Gal/per min
  • Cold Water: Yes (designed for cold water use only)
  • Volts: 120
  • Frequency: 60 Hz
  • Amps: 12.5
  • Weight: 14.6 lbs

Usage Features:

The BC111HS comes with several accessories to enhance its versatility:

  • Spray Gun (F): The main control for directing the high-pressure water. It includes a safety lock (G) to prevent accidental engagement of the trigger.
  • Extension Lance (I): Attaches to the spray gun to provide extended reach and allows for the connection of various nozzles.
  • 15° Quick Connect Nozzle (J): A general-purpose nozzle for a balanced spray pattern.
  • Foam Cannon (H): Designed for applying detergents. It has a straw that fits into the high-pressure top and allows for adjustment of soap levels. Users should only use detergents specifically formulated for power washers and avoid thick or gel-like detergents to prevent clogging.
  • Super Soft High Pressure Hose (E): Connects the power washer unit to the spray gun. It is crucial to tighten this hose properly to prevent it from slipping or popping off during use.
  • Cord Hook (D) and Spray Gun Holster (A): Integrated storage solutions on the unit for convenience and organization.
  • Handle (B): For easy transport and maneuverability.

To operate the unit, users must first ensure the "ON/OFF" switch is in the "OFF" position, plug the GFCI into a grounded outlet, and fully open the water supply. Before turning on the power, the spray gun trigger should be squeezed to release air and allow a steady stream of water. Once the power switch is turned "ON," the unit will briefly run and then shut off, indicating it's ready for use. Squeezing the trigger on the spray gun initiates the high-pressure wash. Users are advised to allow the motor to come to a complete stop before squeezing the trigger again to prevent issues with the auto-start feature. Always test a small area to avoid damaging surfaces, as the impact force of the water can exceed the durability of certain materials. The force can be varied by adjusting the angle and distance of the nozzle from the surface.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the BC111HS:

  • Nozzle Cleaning: Clogged nozzles can significantly reduce water pressure or cause the unit to pulsate. The unit includes a nozzle cleaning wire (L) for clearing debris. Alternatively, an unfolded paper clip can be used. After cleaning, back-flush water through the nozzles using a garden hose.
  • Garden Hose Adapter Screen: The screen inside the garden hose adapter should be cleaned periodically to prevent debris from entering the pump. It can be removed, rinsed with clean water, and reinserted.
  • O-Rings: The o-rings on the bayonet end of the nozzle should be cleaned regularly and lubricated with non-water soluble grease, such as petroleum jelly, to prevent leaks. An O-Ring Kit (K) is included for replacements.
  • Detergent System: After using the foam cannon, any remaining detergent should be discarded, and the bottle and nozzle head flushed with fresh water to prevent chemical residue from clogging the injector.
  • Storage: Proper storage is crucial, especially in freezing temperatures. The power washer should be stored indoors to prevent water in the unit from freezing and expanding, which can cause damage. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, a pump saver (not included, part # PW64511) is recommended to protect the pump from freezing and internal corrosion. Before storing, the unit should be turned off, unplugged, water supply disconnected, and all remaining water pressure released by squeezing the spray gun trigger. The high-pressure hose and lance should be removed, and the gun placed in its holster. The power cord and pressure hose have designated storage hooks on the unit.

The manufacturer provides a 2-year warranty for the product. The first year covers all parts and accessories, while the second year covers manufacturer defects. For any questions, problems, or missing parts, customers are encouraged to contact AR North America's customer service department via phone or email.
