9.5 Time and Language
9.5.1 Date and Time
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > date+time.
Use this setting to manage the date and time settings.
t 24-hour clock: Switch this option to On to use 24-hour format. If disabled, the clock will be displayed in
the 12-hour format.
t Set date and time automatically: Switch this option to On to set the date and time automatically in
accordance with the network-provided time.
t Set time zone automatically: Switch this option to On to set the time zone automatically in accordance
with the network-provided time zone.
t Time zone: Tap to select the time zone manually. This option appears only if you turn off Set date and
time automatically.
t Date: Tap to set date manually by tapping the month, date, and year. After setting the date, tap
to
apply.
t Time: Tap to set time manually by tapping the hour, minute, and AM/PM. After setting the time, tap
to
apply.
9.5.2 Language
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > language.
Use this setting to change the language used on your device.
t Tap add languages to add the languages from the list.
t Tap and hold the added language on the list to view more options.
– remove: Tap to delete the language from the adding list.
– move up: Tap to apply the selected language to your device.
– keyboard options: Tap to configure the keyboard settings. For more information, refer to Keyboard on
page 109.
– region options: Tap to configure the region settings. For more information, refer to Region on page 108.
– speech options: Tap to configure the speech settings. This option is only available for languages that
support the speech feature. For more information, refer to Speech on page 110.
You have to tap restart phone to change the language. The device turns off and reboots automatically.
9.5.3 Region
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > region.
Use this setting to change rthe region in accordance with your current location.
t Country/Region: Tap to select the country.
t Regional format: Tap to select the language which is used in the selected country. If you select match
phone language, the language specified in Language settings is applied.
