9.5.4 Keyboard
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > keyboard.
Use this setting to configure the keyboard settings.
t Tap add keyboards to add the keyboard types from the list. You can select the multiple checkboxes at
once. Tap
to apply.
t Tap and hold the added keyboards and tap remove to delete the keyboards from the adding list.
t Tap advanced to configure additional keyboard settings.
– reset suggestions: Tap to delete all entries in the suggestion list.
– Settings for all keyboards: Select the checkboxes you want to apply. If you want to activate the
comma key, select Show a comma key when available. If you want to automatically revert back to the
QWERTY keyboard after entering an emoticon, tap Switch back to letters after I type an emoticon.
– Text suggestion improvements: Select the Improve suggestions by sending information about my
keyboard usage to Microsoft checkbox to give a feedback to Microsoft for improving keyboards.
9.6 Input and Accessibility
9.6.1 Ease of Access
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > ease of access.
Use this setting to customize your device to improve its accessibility.
t Text size: Tap and move the slider to adjust the text size. The text size in the preview box will change
accordingly.
t High contrast: Switch this option to On to change the colors for some features and hide some of their
background images.
t Narrator: Switch this option to On to activate the narrator feature, which reads text displayed on your
device aloud.
t Narrator quick launch: Switch this option to On to activate the narrator feature quickly by pressing and
holding the Volume up button.
t Screen magnifier: Switch this option to On to magnify the screen by tapping it with two fingers.
t Allow zooming on all web content: Switch this option to On to allow you to zoom in or out on all web
content, even if the website or app does not offer the zoom feature.
t browser captions: Tap to configure the browser caption settings.
– Custom fonts and colors: Switch this option to On to apply the user-defined font styles and colors.
– Font size: Tap and move the slider to adjust the font size. The text size in the preview box will change
accordingly.
– Font style: Tap to select the font style.
– Text effects: Tap to select the text effects such as raised edge, depressed edge, outline, or drop
shadow.
– Font color: Tap to select the browser font color used in the browser.
– Font transparency: Tap to adjust the transparency of the font used in the browser.
