7.11.1 Creating Your Microsoft Account
Create a Microsoft account when you first set up your device or any time later. If you create a Microsoft
account on your device, a mail account is added automatically.
t To use web and data services, your device must be connected to a Wi-Fi or data networks.
t Using the Internet browser or downloading from the Internet via your data network may incur extra
charges depending on your data plan.
To create a Microsoft account when you set up your device
When you activate your device for the first time, you had better create a Microsoft account for using various
apps.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

When you have completed the setup, you will be signed in to your device.
To create a Microsoft account after your device is set up

On the Apps screen, tap Settings > email+accounts.

Tap add an account > Microsoft account.

Tap create one and follow the on-screen instructions.

When you have completed the setup, you will be signed in to your device. Swipe in from the right edge of
the screen.
7.11.2 Viewing Microsoft Office Documents
Open and view Word documents, Excel workbooks, or PowerPoint presentations on your device.

On the Start screen, tap .

Swipe to recent or places.
t When swiping to recent, skip to the step 4.
t When swiping to places, go to the next step.

Tap the location of the file you want to view.

Tap a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file.

View the document.
t To zoom in or out in a document, spread or pinch two fingers on the screen.
t To add the document to the Start screen, tap and hold the name of the file, and then tap pin to start.
t To send the document via email, tap and hold the name of the file, and then tap share....
t To share the document with related apps or accounts, tap and hold the name of the file, and then tap
save to....
t To delete the document, tap and hold the name of the file, and then tap delete....
