Brake cleaner
Install rear wheel ( 127).
Clutch
Checking clutch function
Pull back the clutch lever.
Pressure point must be clearly
perceptible.
If no clear pressure point can be
felt:
Have the clutch checked by an
authorized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Check clutch lever play
Operate clutch lever 1 until
resistance is felt.
Measure clutch pedal free
play A between handlebar fit-
ting and clutch lever in this po-
sition.
Clutch lever play
0.02...0.04 in (0.5...1.0 mm)
(on the handlebar fitting, with
cold engine)
If clutch pedal free play is outside
tolerance:
Adjust clutch lever play
( 121).
Adjust clutch lever play
To increase the clutch lever
play: turn bolt 2 in direction A.
To decrease the clutch lever
play: turn bolt 2 in direction B.
Check clutch lever play
( 121).
Repeat these steps until the
clutch lever play is correctly
adjusted.
