8.1.3 Modem Configuration for Remote Connection to
VCB - Frequency Inverters
In the terminal program of the PC, the following connection settings must be made:
Baud rate
9600 bits per second
Data bits
7
Parity
even
Stop bits
1
Flow control
Hardware
Symbol line in the “hyperterminal”
For information on how to set these parameters, please refer to the operating
instructions or the help function of your terminal program. After the connection has
been established successfully, enter the following AT commands via the terminal
program:

The baud rate of the serial interface is set to a fixed value.

Save the current configuration in the modem memory.
Confirm each command by pressing the Enter key. After processing the command
successfully, the modem signals "OK" in the terminal program window. For more
information, refer to the modem operating instructions.
8.1.4 Communication media
Provided that a suitable emulation driver is available, the control software VPlus
additionally supports the following communication devices
− internal analog modems (e.g. in PCMCIA format),
− external ISDN adapters at COM port,
− external ISDN modems and
− GSM radio modems
as communication media for establishing a teleservice connection.
Note: When using these media, make sure that on the plant side a compatible
communication device is available. This device must also feature a
compatible serial interface for connection with the frequency inverter.
