5.2 Faults in the initialization mode
Nothing displayed after being switched on
Possible cause:
R Power supply cable defective
R Open connection between M1 circuit board and
power module
R Device fuse defective
R Auxiliary voltage defective
R M1 circuit board defective
Remedy:
1. Check the power supply unit for continuity.
2. Replace power supply cable in the event of a
malfunction.
DANGER - Risk of electric shock from live
parts. Observe the electrical engineering safety
regulations.
3. Check connection between M1 circuit board and
power module (see sec. 6) and reestablish.
4. Check voltage at measuring points M1 and M2 on
the power module (see sec. 5.6).
Voltage must be 230V.
The device fuse is defective if the voltage differs.
5. Replace power supply if the voltage differs.
6. Check auxiliary voltage at measuring points IC 14
Pin 1 and GND1 Pin 4 on the power module (see
sec. 5.6).
Auxiliary voltage must be 12V.
7. Replace power supply if the auxiliary voltage differs.
8. Connect M1 circuit board from Bosch Customer
Service and check BAT 645 for proper operation.
9. Replace M1 circuit board if BAT 645 functions with
M1 circuit board from Bosch Customer Service.
"No battery connected"
Possible cause:
R Battery charging cable defective
R Connection for battery charging cable defective
R Battery voltage of lead-acid batteries below 6V
R Battery voltage of lithium iron phosphate batteries
below 9V
R Voltage measurement faulty
Remedy:
1. Check battery charging cable for continuity.
2. Replace defective battery charging cable.
3. Check connection for battery charging cable.
4. Replace defective connection for battery charging
cable.
5. Check rated battery voltage.
6. Charge only lead-acid batteries and lithium iron
phosphate batteries with a rated voltage of 12V or
24V.
7. Replace power module.
"Warning! Check amps clamp"
Possible cause:
Amps clamps are not attached to the battery properly.
Remedy:
1. Connect amps clamp of the red battery charging
cable to the battery positive terminal.
2. Connect amps clamp of the black battery charging
cable to the battery negative terminal.
"Warning! Overvoltage"
Possible cause:
Battery greater than 24V rated voltage connected.
Remedy:
1. Check rated battery voltage.
2. Charge only lead-acid batteries and lithium iron
phosphate batteries with a rated voltage of 12V or
24V.
"Fault! Call customer service"
Possible cause:
Communication error between M1 circuit board and
power module
Remedy:
DANGER - Risk of electric shock from live
parts. Observe the electrical engineering safety
regulations.
1. Check connection between M1 circuit board and
power module (see sec. 6) and reestablish.
2. Check auxiliary voltage at measuring points IC 14
Pin 1 and GND1 Pin 4 on the power module (see
sec. 5.6).
Auxiliary voltage must be 12V.
3. Replace power supply if the auxiliary voltage differs.
4. Connect M1 circuit board from Bosch Customer
Service and check BAT 645 for proper operation.
5. Replace M1 circuit board if BAT 645 functions with
M1 circuit board from Bosch Customer Service.
"Fault no.: 10"
Possible cause:
Amp clamps are not attached to the battery properly.
Remedy:
1. Connect amps clamp of the red battery charging
cable to the battery positive terminal.
2. Connect amps clamp of the black battery charging
cable to the battery negative terminal.
