Connecting your TV audio
Use this type of connection only if you are using more
than one source device for audio and video.
There are three options available for this connection:
• Optical (digital) – An optical connector for Audio Out
provides the highest-quality sound.
• Stereo (analog) – Analog (RCA-type) connectors use
the stereo audio cable instead of optical.
• Headphone – An optional analog connector requires
additional audio cable (not supplied).
Routing audio/video to the TV
To get the best possible sound from devices connected
to your TV, you need to make a digital audio connection
from those devices to your TV.
HDMI
®
cables provide the highest-quality digital audio
and video. If your TV or any source device does not
provide an HDMI connector, you need to use both audio
and video cables.
Choose from:
• Optical or stereo audio cable.
Optical cable provides digital audio.
• Component or composite video cable.
Component cable provides video quality similar to
HDMI.
Using Optical cable from your TV
1. Insert one end of the supplied optical cable into the
Optical Audio Out connector on your device. (This
audio connector may be marked “Digital Audio.”)
2. Insert the other end of the cable into the OPTICAL IN
connector on the interface module.
