• Allow engine to cool before removing the lter bowl. Spilled fuel can potentially
ignite or explode.
• Place a container underneath the lter assembly to catch any spilled fuel.
• Properly dispose of fuel according to State and Local regulations.
If water needs to be removed;
1. Rotate the fuel shut o valve (Item 2, Figure 4-6) to stop the fuel ow from the tank.
2. Place a suitable sized container beneath the lter assembly to catch any spilled fuel.
3. Rotate the lter bowl (Item 1, Figure 4-6) and remove it from the lter assembly.
4. Dispose of the fuel and water in the bowl according to State and Local regulations.
5. Reinstall and secure the lter bowl.
6. Reopen the fuel valve.
If the fuel bowl does not ll with fuel, it may be necessary to air bleed the fuel system.

7. Release dirt from separator tube at the bottom of the air lter by squeezing the rubber dust
ejector valve (Item 1, Figure 4–7) underneath the air lter.
